Ah that's about the only Japanese I know....unless you want me to ask for everyone's telephone numbers! XD

So I've just started learning Japanese at my local community college and we're supposed to learn at least 30 hiragana by Thursday...I was wondering what useful tactics everyone did at first to memorize hiragana?

I was going to to try flash cards and just writing them down many times to memorize them~

あたしの名前は「Cat」だ。

C: 「CAROLS」
  • レビュー:あたしは「Carols」がとても好きだ。一番好きなバラードじゃないかもけど、よく聞く。軽くて徐々に最高潮に達してることご大好き。なんでこの歌が大好きな人が大きくないか分からない。10/10

A: 「And then」
  • レビュー:(笑)この歌が碌々に覚えられない。「LOVEppears」が全部いつもあまり好きじゃないんで(あまり聞かない)、特にこの歌が目を引かない。聞くとき、「悪くない」と思うけど、即刻忘れる。4/10
T: 「talkin' 2 myself」
  • レビュー:大~好きだよわ!<3「GUILTY]の一番好きな歌なんだ。一体にロックが好きだから、意表じゃない。実はたいていロックのほうがポップより好きだ。10/10

"Writing Prompt #1"

Alright! Let's start!

I hope this'll be fun, we'll try a game-like prompt.

RULES:
1. Look at your name. For each letter in your name, find an Ayu song title that starts with the same letter. (Note: I could not for the life of me figure out how to say this in Japanese. I had to ask 2 native Japanese people and they weren't even sure, but this is what they came up with. So I take no credit for this sentence. I apologize)
2. Write a review for each song.
*You don't have to use your real name if you don't want to

My example:
My name is Cat (note: that's not my real full name).

C: "CAROLS"
  • Review: I really love this song! It's not my favorite ballad, but I listen to it a lot. I really like that it's soft and slowly reaches a climax. I don't understand why there are so many people that don't love this song. 10/10
A: "And then"
  • Review: LOL. I can barely remember this song. I've never really liked any of of "LOVEppears" (I hardly listen to it), and this song in particular doesn't really stand out. When I listen to it I think, "This isn't bad," but I forget right away. 4/10
T: "talkin' 2 myself"
  • Review: I looove it! <3 It's my favorite song on "GUILTY." In general, I like rock music, so that's not surprising. In fact, I like rock music more than pop. 10/10

Sooo, next person! :D

 僕にとって文法と聴解です。

日本語の文法はSOVのスタイルを使っているので、最初の時、慣れていなかった。本当に難しいと思う。

その以外、聴解も大変ね。 日本人と喋ると、”ゆっくりして!もう一度!”って言った。本当に恥ずかしい

あなたには一番難しいのことはなに?

----------------

For me it will be grammar and listening

Japanese grammar is SOV, when I start to learn it, I cant get used to it. It was so difficult.

Other than that, listening is a big problem too. Whenever I try to speak Japanese to a native, I always said "Say it slower, One more time!". It was embarassing.

What is the most difficult part of the Japanese for you?

* This is probably one of our most useful Kanji so far, hah. Wanna talk about how you got wasted over the weekend, or the hangover you had this morning?? Use this! XP No, but seriously. This Kanji can also be used for certain illnesses, like sea or motion sickness. It's also used for 'anaesthesia' and 'snoring'. Oh, and you can use this to talk about your adoration for somebody. Or maybe about a whim. Many uses for this one. :) And bonus! We have the stroke order for this one, finally.
Oh, and my awesome word processor is working again, so I should be able to tell you the exact grade again now, rather than 'secondary' or such. ^_^

* This Kanji also has another on reading that was listed a few places, which is 'fu'. It has a kun reading, also, that is listed almost everywhere - 'kama'. However, I searched through three different dictionaries, and I only found entries which used 'kan'. :\ So yeah. Know that there is at least one other "common" reading for this one, but I can't find what the hell they're used for, lol. If anybody knows of a word where either reading is used, feel free to share.
Also, even though I haven't seen "boiler" or "kettle" as actual definitions for this Kanji, I've seen 'boiler', 'boiler room', 'kettle', etc. used often for the 'kan' reading. You can also use 'kan' for 'bald head' (薬缶頭)... I suppose it's because the word is made up of 'kettle' and 'head'. And a kettle is very smooth and.....bald head-like? XP
